On the afternoon of September 27, the Ministry of National Defense held a regular press conference. Ren Guoqiang, deputy director of the Ministry of National Defense Information Bureau and spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense, answered questions from journalists on the US Department of Equipment Development of the Central Military Commission.

澎湃News: For the recent US sanctions against the Equipment Development Department of the Central Military Commission of China, some media said that it will have an impact on Sino-Russian military-technical cooperation. Does it really have an impact? What measures does China have to deal with?

Ren Guoqiang: China and Russia are comprehensive strategic cooperation partners. The military cooperation between the two sides is a normal cooperation between sovereign states. It aims to safeguard the legitimate interests of the two countries and safeguard regional peace and stability, in line with international law. No right to interfere. At present, the military and technical cooperation projects between China and Russia are progressing smoothly according to the plan. The next step will be further strengthened by the principle of mutual benefit and win-win consensus.
