Live broadcast from Guangzhou Daily on February 9, China Football Association (CFA) should ensure that its hard power is maintained in the top 8 of Asia after the rebuilding of the national football team. This year, it will strive for the right to speak in the Asian Football Association. Du Zhaocai, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Football Association, will compete with Zheng Mengkui for the vice-president of the Asian Football Association in April.

AFC is scheduled to re-elect the Executive Board of AFC at the 29th AFC Congress in Kuala Lumpur on April 6, this year, including the President of AFC, five Vice-Chairmen, six members of the Board of Directors of FIFA and 14 other members of the Executive Board of AFC for a term of office from 2019 to 2023.

The current five Vice-Chairmen of AFC represent West Asia, East Asia, South Asia, ASEAN and Central Asia respectively, and the Vice-Chairman of East Asia is Zheng Mengkui, President of Korea Football Association.

At present, according to the nomination confirmed by the Asian Football Federation, there are four candidates for the vice-presidential election in East Asia in April this year, including Du Zhaocai, deputy director of the General Administration of Sports, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Chinese Football Association, Zheng Mengkui, the current vice-chairman, and two candidates from Guam and Mongolia. In addition, the Asian Football Association has announced that nine representatives, including Du Zhaocai, will run for six seats on the regional board of FIFA in Asia.

Guangzhou Daily said that Du Zhaocai's biggest rival at present is Zheng Mengkui. During the Asian Cup, Du Zhaocai has gone to the UAE to communicate with the leadership of the Asian Football Association and the heads of the major countries. He will not receive less support than Zheng Mengkui. In addition, the Asian Football Association will announce the host country of the 2023 Asian Cup in May this year. From the experience of hardware and hosting large-scale events, China will defeat Korea in a big probability. However, from the overall game strategy, the Chinese Football Association does not rule out giving up the "2023 Asian Cup".
